Exploring CBD Tea Benefits
We’ve seen CBD products in everything from dog treats to skin creams, but CBD tea is what Zest tea is excited about. The combination of CBD with our naturally high levels of caffeine offers many wellness benefits.
The many health benefits of CBD tea have been backed up by science. Numerous studies and research show that CBD tea is extremely safe.
But, before we dive into this, let’s cover the basics.
Cannabidiol or CBD is a chemical compound found in the marijuana and hemp plants. CBD products are composed of cannabinoids. Natural chemicals with great health benefits.
Importantly CBD from the cannabis plants does NOT contain THC. Tetrahydrocannabinol, THC, is the psychoactive element of the plant. CBD tea does not contain THC, so it will not make you feel high. Sorry!
Instead, water-soluble cannabidiol and THC-free oils from the hemp plant are used in tea blends. Still have questions Have more questions? Check out our What is CBD Tea article.
WHAT CBDTEA BENEFITS ARE AVAILABLE?
CBD tea has many health benefits, and the world is opening up to the potential that CBD offers. CBD products containing hemp-derived cannabidiol are currently legal in the United States. However, the FDA has not yet approved them for use.
CBD products are often disclaimed as having health benefits. This product isn’t intended to diagnose, treatment, cure, or prevent any diseases.
Even though there are many health benefits to CBD teas, the FDA still needs more data.
Here’s what we know so far regarding the potential benefits of CBD Tea.
RELAXATION.
OnePoll 2020 surveyed 2000 Americans and found that 42% of them use CBD on a daily or occasional basis. Another 25% said that CBD helps with anxiety and stress.
Another University of Washington study of CBD/THC in cannabis has shown that stress symptoms can be reduced in 93.3% of sessions.
REDUCE ANXIETY
Evidence supports the fact that CBD may reduce anxiety. One study concluded that CBD treatment reduced anxiety and discomfort in social anxiety disorder patients.
Interestingly, the benefits of green tea include lowering anxiety and improving brain function. 5 It is a green tea mix with natural passionfruit, strawberry and acai flavors.
TREAT dePRESSION
CBD can help with depression symptoms. The University of Washington research that showed a link to CBD and lower stress also revealed significant links to depression. CBD products with high CBD and low THC will have the best results when it comes to reducing depression symptoms.
PREVENTSEIZURES
CBD can significantly lower the number of seizures experienced in patients with Lennox/Gastaut disorder and Dravet Syndrome, according to a 2018 Epilepsy Study. 6 The only FDA-approved CBD medication for treating seizures in epilepsy patients is a prescription drug.
PREVENTNEUROLOGICAL DAMAGE
CBD has neuroprotective and neurological benefits that may help prevent neurological injury. CBD oil had a positive effect on the brains of piglets who suffered from hypoxia-ischemia.
EASE CHRONIC FAIN
THC and cannabis have been shown to work together to relieve pain in those with malignant illnesses, However a 2020 assessment for CBD for chronic Pain Management states that CBD’s pain-relieving properties cannot be attributed to THC or any other component. It is promising, but more research is needed in order to link CBD and reducing neuropathopathic pain.
REGULATE NUUSEA
CBD oil products can be used for nausea control. This is due to cannabinoids (including CBD) that have anti-emetic qualities.
This is great news especially for those suffering from nausea from chemotherapy or medication. The CBD could also be helpful in preventing nausea from chemotherapy treatments.
REDUCE
A study on allergic contact Dermatitis (CBD) proved that it has anti-inflammatory properties. 11 More research is required to confirm this, but this is an encouraging sign for any inflammatory condition. The benefits of CBD can range from treating allergies and arthritis to relieving pain.
TREATSUBSTANCE USE
CBD can help people with substance misuse disorder to avoid relapse and may even reduce their cravings for alcohol.
SOOTHE INSOMNIA
Chamomile tea has been the best option for sleep problems including insomnia. CBD oil could replace it. If you don’t enjoy the chamomile taste, you might try a mix of CBD and another herbal drink, or a cup with some hot milk to aid you in falling asleep.
Although more research is needed to link CBD to sleep, the majority of studies suggest that CBD may be a therapeutic treatment.
CBD is also known to be effective in reducing symptoms and recurring nightmares related to PTSD.
