How To Microdose Delta-8?

October 4, 2022

Microdosing cannabis is gaining popularity as THC potency rises.

Small, non-psychoactive dosages of THC give many advantages without altering the mind or function.

Microdosing delta 8 THC, its mellower twin, is also dangerous. A microdose is a sub-perceptual dose of a psychoactive chemical that promotes physical and mental effects.

More individuals are microdosing THC, especially delta 8 THC, instead of psychedelics like LSD and magic mushrooms (D8).

Microdose Vs. Threshold Dose

A microdose, usually 10% of a conventional dose, has no direct consequences. The threshold dosage is when psychoactive effects begin.

Start carefully and give it time to take effect so you don’t exceed the threshold dose. If you still don’t see results, increase the dose.

Microdoses of delta 8 won’t get you high, but you should avoid driving, using heavy machinery, and doing other dangerous or unlawful jobs until you know how your body reacts.

Once you know what a non-psychoactive dose is for you, you may start undertaking such activities with confidence.

Why Microdose Delta 8 THC?

Delta 8 THC hasn’t been studied much, thus it’s impossible to identify what its advantages are. Microdosing is different since there are no psychotropic effects.

How To Microdose Delta 8 THC?

Certain dosage principles might assist a novice or unskilled user get started.

A normal D8 dosage is 20 to 50 mg, depending on sex, weight, age, and tolerance. A microdose of D8 is 2 to 5 mg if it’s 10% of the regular dosage.

Beginners and people with low THC tolerance should start with 2 to 3 mg, while more experienced users should attempt 4 to 5 mg. Some strong users use 10 mg of delta 8 as a microdose; anything more is deemed psychoactive.

Microdose D8 once or twice per day with one or two days off each week to avoid tolerance. If delta 8 THC starts to lose its potency, you may need a tolerance break to reset your body and restore its benefits.

Effective microdosing requires establishing a regimen and finding the right delta 8 product for you.

1. Vape-Microdosing

Inhaled microdosing is inaccurate. Vaping delta 8 THC properly, inhaling volume, and holding your breath determines how much D8 reaches your system.

Microdosing delta 8 THC using a vaporizer isn’t difficult, but it requires accuracy.

Vape pens that provide a fixed dose every puff make microdosing easier. Some D8 cartridge suppliers include a puff estimate.

If you’re a beginning user, microdosing delta 8 with a conventional vape pen may not be appropriate because one pull may be too much. A regular draw should be plenty if you have a higher tolerance.

2. Tincture Microdosing

Delta 8 tincture microdosing is easier than vaping but still involves math.

First, determine the delta 8 distillate oil’s potency. Some merchants list the delta 8 THC per mL of oil on the bottle’s label.

Divide the delta 8 THC concentration (in milligrams) by the oil volume (in milliliters). Area 52 sells 1200 milligrams of D8 THC in 30 mL of MCT oil or 40 mg/mL.

This is too much for a microdose, thus calculate the dose per tincture drop. Most droppers hold 1 mL and emit 30 drops, therefore divide potency by 30 to get the dosage per drop.

So, one drop of Area 52’s D8 tincture has 1.3 milligrams delta 8 THC. New users can microdose one or two drops, while individuals with higher tolerance levels can attempt three or four.

3. Gummmy Micro Dosing

Microdosing delta 8 THC using Microdosing gummies is easy because each piece is labeled.

Reputable D8 merchants make their candies so the delta 8 THC is equally dispersed, so you can precisely determine a dose when you cut it.

Most delta 8 candies contain 25 mg of D8 THC, thus you must break them into five or more pieces.

Will Delta 8 THC Microdosing Fail A Drug Test?

Yes, however, it depends on variables.

Microdosing delta 8 THC isn’t suggested if you’re forced to take drug tests at work or for a prospective employer without 30 days’ notice.

Trace quantities of THC are detectable. Even full-spectrum CBD oil with a trace of THC might cause a positive drug test.

Microdosing delta 8 on the day of a drug test will almost certainly be discovered. If you microdose delta 8 THC for months, it may take weeks to drain out your system.

If you’ve only recently started microdosing D8 and go a few days without it, you may pass. No promises. Small levels of delta 8 THC exit the body after a few days.
